Story Services
I help storytellers (screenwriters, producers, and more) get out of their own way so they can share the truest form of their story, the way it's meant to be told.
Think of me as a tape recorder playing your brilliance and vision back to you and as a warm guide highlighting where your writing can be improved, clarified, and strengthened. I focus first on understanding what you’re going for and then on giving actionable, direct, and kind story notes on the elements of: character, voice, plot/logic, structure, pacing, and more.
Whether you envision a raunchy ensemble comedy, a magical realist indie, a workplace sitcom with a twist, a slow burn drama, a packet of sketches, or your first short – I work with screenwriters and producers of all genres and mediums. (And even some podcasters, book writers, casting directors, etc).

Reviews from Clients:
“Kana’s script coverage was invaluable to me as I prepared my writing samples for fellowship season. Her notes were thorough, constructive, and very supportive of my vision while offering suggestions to truly make it sing” - Alrinthea C., TV writer, A Black Lady Sketch Show
“Kana's notes on my feature were thorough and thoughtful. Her feedback came at the junction where I was still trying to develop the tone of the story and I'm so grateful for her specific and straight forward breakdown of what worked and what didn't. She gave me actionable tools to better my script and I would enthusiastically recommend her to any screenwriter looking to elevate their draft to the next level” - Elvira I., director/screenwriter, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Fairly Oddparents
“I finished writing my first pilot and handed it over to Kana for an analysis. I nervously waited for her notes, but I had no reason to be nervous since her feedback was constructive and in-depth. Her thoughts inspired me to keep working. It's scary letting people critique your art but since Kana is an incredible writer herself, she knows the importance of not tearing artists down. After making her suggested edits, I'm happy to report, I have three pitch meetings set up!” - Brittanie S., writer/performer, Better Call Saul, Grey’s Anatomy, Native American Media Alliance TV Writers Lab Fellow
“Working with Kana Felix was easily one of the best experiences I’ve had with a script reader — and I’ve worked with a few over the years. What set Kana apart was her care, and the way she approached my project like a true collaborator.
Her notes were thoughtful, smart, and specific — but more than that, she was patient. She didn’t just tell me what wasn’t working; she helped me understand why and offered suggestions that still left room for my voice and vision to lead the way.
Kana asked the kind of questions that stay with you — the ones that make your script stronger long after the notes session ends. And for a project as weird, personal, and tonally tricky as mine, that’s exactly what I needed. If you’re looking for a reader who’s sharp, collaborative, and genuinely rooting for your story to succeed, you couldn’t be in better hands.” - Chris D., Writer/Standup/Copywriter
"Kana Felix has helped me tremendously regarding her coverage and feedback. We worked on an iteration of my script and what I find very impactful is how she sets up her notes. She doesn't pitch like a producer or a development exec, rather she approaches it like a writer herself. She guides by asking essential questions that in turn, help me refocus and refine the story. Additionally, any questions I've had during my discovery process, she was generously there to provide clarity.” - Teo S., 2025 Grand Prize Winner ISA Emerging Screenwriter Competition for Silk & Steel
“I worked with Kana with my writing partner to get notes on a comedy pilot. Kana is truly phenomenal at what she does. Her notes were so smart, thoughtful, and actionable. We implemented them into our next draft, which was then read at a table read and was met with RAVE reviews! I simply cannot recommend Kana enough if you want to get your script to the next level.” - Kendall D., writer/performer, Native American Media Alliance TV Writers Lab Fellow and Netflix’s Native American Writer Accelerator Grant recipient
“Kana clearly understood the type of film I was writing (action thriller) and her notes demonstrated her deep understanding of story and character. She pushed my script in the direction it needed to go and now I have a draft that I’m proud to send out to potential reps!” - Dom H., writer/actor, Obsessed with the Babysitter
“Kana Felix has a gift for coverage. She reads your work with diligence and care, and finds ways to help make your voice more palpable. I enjoy working with her, she is a true professional” - Timothy Y., writer
